77 Kawasaki KZ650 (Cafe Racer Project) in Ohio
04 Jun 2013 23:03 - 04 Jun 2013 23:06
Hi everyone, my name is Sean and though I have a long history of working on cars I've never really worked on bikes before.
I've always wanted to do a cafe racer build and as of yesterday I picked up a 77 Kawasaki KZ650 at a good price. I don't plan on doing any performance modifications right now, it's mostly a physical modification to get the style. I'm new to the build so I'm not sure all the things that I would need. I know I would have to change the seat, tank, rear cowl, and bars but that's the extent of what I know. If anyone has any suggestions, parts to sell (that I could use), etc. it would be greatly appreciated.
The yellow one is the bike I own and the black one is somewhat how I would like it to look (to the extent I could do without insane modification).

Welcome Sean.
Do have a look at www.dotheton.com/ for Café inspiration, and parts sources.
Start a project thread, and take lots of pictures along the way.

thats a great project you have on your hands especially if the motor is already solid and you have the skills to fix things as
i find tons of stuff on ebay, if you order from china most likely it will be a great price just really long shipping.
ill be keeping an eye out for the more updates!
