So here I am again. Two years ago I registered here and with the SOHC4 forum, since I was looking for either a CB 750 or a KZ. Had some fun time with the CB, but now "uprgaded" to the KZ 1000 (CB is for sale).

Some info about the bike:
1979 KZ 1000 LTD
Was about to be turned into a dragbike
Swingarm is widened to take a drag tire (also have the tire. never mounted)
Missing rear brake assembly
Sidewinder exhaust, original brake won't fit
Missing gauges, has essential switches instead
Flat slide Lectron carbs, no filters
Is running but hasn't been on the street in years
Just registered as Antique
Amazing paintjob (with matching brand new helmet!)

I want to ride it on the street and here is what I want/need to do:
Find a rear brake assembly which also means I need a different exhaust
Need to weld the tab back on the swingarm that holds the rod for the rear brake caliper
Find some gauges, not sure which way to go, original, digital ???

I am curreently looking for ideas and photos which way to go with it so bring it on please :P . Will post more soon and I am sure I'll have some questions. Great forum, looking forward to sticking around quite a bit!

Might want to add a set of streetable carbs to the list. I'm not sure about Lectrons on a street bike.

Whereabouts in Centex? I know a few people there?

Austin.

I have the shocks lying around just cleaning them up now.

It's rideable with the Lectrons, so I leave them on for a bit until I have figured out what carbs I want to get, brkes have priority over carbs :-)
