New confused guy...

Hi guys!
I figured i should probably join this forum since i have a lot of questions and not a lot of people nearby to answer them. I'm slightly confused as to which model/year bike i have. I just bought it on Saturday and am diving headfirst into getting my first bike running and roadworthy. How can i identify my bike by the VIN? Vin number is KZT00B500731 and the date of manufacture of 2/77. I'm starting to believe this bike has different carbs on it, or it's not a 900 like i was told. Help please! Thanks in advance!

With that production date, I would think it's a KZ1000. Do you have any pictures?

Kinda looks like a 1000ltd with a KZ900 gas tank. As mentioned vin on frame and engine will tell you a lot.

Sounds like a 900 motor. Does it have 903cc stamped in it?

Might the engine number actually be Z1E021754 instead of Z1E21754?

Needing a better closer pic of the carbs.

Meanwhile, there's some excellent carb identification info at Z1 Enterprises.

Look like the carbs could be stock Mikuni 28mm carbs for '74 Z1-A 900.

The carbs with three screws holding down the caps (covers) were introduced on the 1976 KZ900 models.
