Looks like a decent bike to start with. I think the tank is correct for an 82. Welcome to the forum

Hello, bleedgreen1990, and WELCOME to KZrider! :cheer:

Earlier large Kaw fours were produced with manual slide carbs.

Later models, such as the '82 KZ1000, were produced with CV (constant vacuum) carbs.

Good Fortune! :)

the title says kz1000j... the carbs that are on it dont have any vacuum lines. other than the plugged off ports you would use to synch them with.. i would have to go out and look at the brand they are i think it starts with an "s". i believe the motor was put in in 2012 thats why i am unsure which it is.

Some carbs have a dedicated vacuum nipple for the tube supplying vacuum to a vacuum operated petcock.

On models equipped with a vacuum operated petcock and carbs without such dedicated vacuum nipple, one of the carb holder nipples is generally used for the tube supplying vacuum to the vacuum operated petcock.

Examples of carbs with dedicated vacuum nipple for vacuum operated petcock, manual slide and CV carbs:
