KZ650 Builder in Traverse City, MI

Hello all,

Made the jump last week and bought a '78 KZ650 off craigslist - first time owning my own bike.

The plan is to build up a brat/scrambler inspired by the "La Corona" bike:

I scored the Kawi on the cheap because it wasn't running. Half an hour of tinkering at home and she fired up!

Blue - Yes... at some point. Planning to keep it all until I get the whole bike mocked up and go from there.

That being said, anything in particular you're looking for?

Welcome to the site. Looks like a very nice mostly original bike. If you decide to ditch the stock mirrors, I'd like to have them.

Yeah it's in good shape - the pics make it look better than it is though. One of those that looks great from 10 feet away, but upon closer inspection you see all the little pitted spots and such.

No plans to use the mirrors at this time. I'll keep you posted.
