Noobie checking in..... was created by IGO202
I actually joined four years ago and have been lurking from time to time but never made a post until while ago in the carb section.

I have a '78 1000 that I bought new 34 years ago last June. I've installed a couple piston kits over the years, first a 1075 then about 8 years ago I rebuilt it with a 1105 kit.
I have the old RC 388 cams with Ti retainers and V&H did the headwork. I've had the Dymags and Cal-Fab swingarm on it since the early eighties.

I'm in the process of tearing it down to powdercoat the frame and give it some much needed love.

Here's a shot of the bike right before pulling it up on the lift.

Great to be here,
Dan

Welcome to forum...damm nice bike. B) B) B) B)

Is the Cal-Fab a smooth sided frame or a H-beam style....looks like the outer brace is flat or smooth. Do you have a model number or doc on it.

Post a few more pics....would like to see other side of swing arm.

Thanks guys for the compliments.

I'll answer a few questions posted.
The stacks were on the bike from the last time I rode it, that was at the strip. I always ran K&N pods on the street but the bike picked up quite a bit with the stacks.

The swingarm is not braced, just the base model. I can't remember any model number or anything, sorry but it's been a long time & I'm getting kinda old. :P
I'll post a picture from the other side & add it to this post if that's okay.

I live at the foot of Deals Gap and set the bike up years ago to ride in the twisties. Besides the wheels and swingarm I installed S&W Street Stroker shocks, fork brace and front springs (can't remember the brand)and the bike did well for what it was back in the day.

I love just about all bikes but lean toward the old school look even though I own a ZX14. I always liked the looks of the ZRX's and found a clean one 7 years ago that I still have. I installed a Turbo-Tec turbo kit six years ago and the bike is a hoot.

Here's a shot of me & momma strolling thru the Dragon.

Thats what it's all about! Bike is right with the era. Best part is you bought it new! How often do we get to see that? You had and still have good taste!

Here you go 4TheKZ1000.
Not much to look at since it's just the basic arm.

Hey 531,
That bike is SHARP! I tried to buy a decent 80 model Z1-R back in the summer but the guy wasn't about to sell......couldn't blame him.

Thanks again guys for the nice words about my old scoot.
