New member in Nova Scotia with 1980 KZ750 LTD

I had an 80s Ninja 600 for a few years while living in Alberta, which I sold when I moved. After a couple years without a bike due to moves, I was chomping at the bit to pick something up.

I came across an ad from an old British guy selling a 1980 KZ750 LTD for cheap. He was in a town a couple hours away so I talked him in to giving me first crack at it (he could have easily sold it before I made it there if he wanted).

He had bought it sight unseen recently, thinking it was the shaft drive model (a ZN750 LTD, I believe), but found the seat on the KZ was too tall for him, so he got it running to resell it.

I bought it in late October and picked it up mid November to ride back, when the temperature wasn't too far above freezing. On top of it being the longest ride I've done, after a couple years off, on an unfamiliar bike, it was quite interesting, but it's now nestled in my shed where I can tinker away at it.

It's mostly stock apart from Progressive rear shocks and a Kerker exhaust, and in pretty good condition. I'm no mechanic but I should be able to get it back in fighting shape. My winter project is to make it a bit of a cafe racer to get around town with.
