Hi, my name Louis-Mathieu, I'm from Québec, Canada. I speak french so sorry if my english is sometime unsual. I own a 1976 kz650b motorcycle that I am planning to restore over the winter. The title and the frame says that it's a 1976 but I believe it's a 1977 built in 1976 as I can't find any replacement part from 1976. Altough I have a haynes manual that says 1976-1978. I came to this site by trying to find solution for some of my problems and I decided to create an account. So thanks in advance for the answers I hope I'm gonna find ! I'll update this topic with a picture of the bike when I have one.

Welcome aboard! Yes, any KZ650 built in 1976 is actually a 1977 model. So if yours is a B model (single disk brake in front; drum brake in rear) it is a KZ650-B1. We look forward to seeing pictures of the bike. Ed

Hello, Louis-Mathieu, and WELCOME to KZrider! :cheer:

Lots of good info on kawasaki.com, including parts diagrams, part names, part numbers, models sharing same part, availability, etc. Here's a link for help with navigating the site and finding information.

Thanks everybody for the welcome and the links. Here is a update with picture of my bike as it is right now. The bike had not started in 5 years when I got it and had been sleeping in a shed. After a complete carb cleaning, a oil change and a new battery the bike started and idled really well. I was able to ride it and test gears, clutch and brakes, everything was in good working condition. There is a few problems that I'm gonna be dealing with this winter though before starting to clean it. There is a oil leak on the head gasket. The electric has been modified, the battery won't charge and the electric starter doesn't work. The tires are to be changed. The bike came with a complete athena gasket kit, a two disc front brake set(previous owner had installed a sidecar) and a flat seat that I'm probably going to install because I think it looks better that way. The black paint is of fairly good quality but might get it repainted later.
