Yet another new guy...
03 Oct 2012 14:16
Hi all! I've been a lurker here for quite some time, finally decided to dive in and introduce myself. I recently picked up a 1980 KZ650, technically my second bike, but really the first complete and running bike I've ever owned. As many here, I enjoy the mechanical challenge of tinkering with stuff and the gratification of doing it myself.
I've learned so much already from the contributors here, and I hope I can in return help add to the database of collective knowledge.
Bob

Welcome Bob.
Nice 650!

How does she handle with a radial front tire and bias ply rear?

Both front and rear tires were recently replaced by the PO, and I believe they are are radial( barely have 100 miles whatever they are). If anyone needs some practically new tires, I'll have set for sale in about a month.

I honestly haven't ridden it much since the fork swap, just a few times around the hood. I have a few nagging issues that I hope will soon be resolved after my Z1 shipment arrives this week (petcock, sticking floats). With some luck I'll get a couple more rides in before tearing into the rear half of the bike.
I'm starting to give a little more thought with what I want to do with the mono vs. dual swap, but in either case that rear wheel/tire won't be on there much longer
