Another new guy // KZ550 LTD, 1982

Hello all,

Picked up my first bike a few weeks ago off of craigslist. Runs well, good frame, chrome is in good shape, i did put a new rear tire on.. i have two manuals and am really looking forward to learning to ride on this bike and fixing her up!

She starts and runs pretty well but idle is non-existent, ie if I'm not applying some throttle she'll eventually cut out, cold or warm. I think i found the idler screws and will attempt to adjust this weekend.

I'm guessing it's more than an idle screw adjustment. Search this forum to see if there are any posts of the carbs being taken apart, cleaned, and put back. It's really NOT hard at all, I think it will fix your problem and you will get better performance from your bike.
