1976 Kz900 b1 ltd - new guy

Hello, I have a 1976 kz900 ltd with a frame sticker thats says Kawasaki Corp USA and a vin I cant find any info on. Vin is 502687, cant find a decoder for this model. I like this bike a lot and intend to do a full restoration. From what i have read these bikes had a lot of there equiptment made in the states like the jardine pipes, Morris wheels and seats made in Nabraska. Anyone out there have a little more insight on these bikes or the American facility where they were made? Are they collectable, somewhat rare? Any decoder info? Any info would be a great help. AFAIK, the '76 was originally meant as a Limited Edition, but sold so well that Kawasaki made lots. However, I would imagine the '76 to definitely be the rarest and most collectible of the series.

Yeah I live around 40 miles from that plant,they build mostly heavy equipment there now.

That would be a KZ900 B. A B1 would be a 1977 model. Nice score. If you order parts make sure you tell them the year. A lot of parts for this bike are one year specific.

The wheels are diffrent as they have only one marking on them near the valve stem. The rear sprocket is diffrent from the later year mag wheels.
