Ok
Bought the bike, it hadn't been ridden much, needed new chain and sprocket also an oil leak from the cam tunnel rubber forced a top end strip. bearing in mind that this is my first bike with shims in (had CB750 before)the first thig i did after taking the ehead off was turn it upside down and 3 shim buckets fell out, so got the head planed just in case, got someone to shim it up with the head off so that was all good, got in a mess with the valve timing as you cant see the arrow on the front cam sprocket with the chain on haha, set of new air box to carb ducts and cleaned out the carbs. Z-Power in UK were amazing with parts and getting them to me
put it all back together, then warmed it up for 10 mins, went for a couple of miles ride on it then, tank off, coils off and re-torqued the head, has been running smooth as anything ever since
Got some plans for it eg lose the seat for a 2:4 type seat, lose the handlebars for some drag bars and eventually get a box section swingarm
its got 24k miles on it which seem to be genuine as the pistons only had an arrow on and no oversize numbers and the cross hatch honing is still just visible in the barells

Welcome Woody. Like the bike. Used to have one like it but sold it when the woman came along. The sh... we do for love. Have a 1977 kz 1000 now and did it like I always wanted one done. We have the same pipe. Hard to come by. Marving is the only way to go unless you can find a Bissanni. Welcome anyway. Keep upgraded pics coming.
Am addicted to Z1's and kz 900's have an el camino, fly rc helicoptors and am strung out on horsepower.
