New guy in class - from Denmark was created by GreatDane
Hey KZ-fans!

Well, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Kasper, 28 yo and i live in Denmark. I'm new to the whole motorcycleworld - didn't trust myself with one until now. So now I'm pretty close to gettin my license (which is a pretty big deal in Denmark), I bought a '79 KZ650 just about 2 months ago, it was in great shape, just needed a few small jobs done, before it's ready to go. When winter comes I'll be tearing it apart and building it up from scratch - I have alot of different ideas, but haven't decided on exactly which way to go yet.

Here's what it looked like when I bought it.

(Nope it didn't take long 'til the windscreen was ripped off)

The guy I bought it from had about 120 bikes from 70s and early 80s, so it was hard to choose. I was considering a couple of CB's as well, but this KZ just ran so smooth that I had to have it. I'm a pretty tall guy too, so the CB's were just too small. I haven't had no regret of buying this bike since I did. I'll soon post a pic that shows how far I am at this point.

Take care

-GreatDane/Kasper

Welcome aboard! Considering that it runs well now be sure to keep that stock airbox on it or you will be writing a "Why does my KZ650 with CV carbs run like crap?" posting. B) Ed

So you love pictures, here's a few of what's happened since I bought it. New indicators, painted bits and pieces (engine covers were badly scratched), new taillight, homemade bracket (that holds indicators and licenseplate too). Lowered the front a bit, I'm currently wondering which way to go on the fender, to cut it or buy another one, suggestions?
The speedo and tacho is in bad shape, so I might go with an Acewell combined speedo and tacho. I'll probably be changing the tyres to Bridgestone BT45, any good or bad experiences?

As you see there's no header on it atm, It had a 4-1 mounted when I bought it, with that 90s-looking Sebring-muffler in the first picture. I wanna get something a bit more simple, something like a cone-type, problem is the 4-1 is 55 mm, and I can't find any mufflers with an inlet that big, can anyone help?

Ride safe.
