you can machine out some slugs to connect both arms.be careful where you splice them or the arm will get wider.
bending up some new tube and replacing the tubing while re-using the pivot tube and axle plates would probably be as easy to do,and would keep it from being cobbled together.
thats my .02,ymmv.
