Hello All,

I´m 50, from germany and bought a 79 Honda CJ250 to have some fun riding through the villages last summer. the baby sits over 9years and I did nothing, just riding and abusing her. After a month the motor blows up and tried to sell her on ebay - nobody wants her so I build her up from ground gain and converted her to a CJ360. During this time I bought a lil 1980 Z250A2 to have something to ride and she looked better than she was in real. So I stripped her down in winter as well after I finished the Honda.

In February this year I bought a Z500B from 1980 and just made maintenance, changing fluids etc. and thats my daily rider niow. She runs great and I`m enjoying my old lightweights a lot. I had bikes in the past but actually now I like the small ones more becouse of their handling and enormous fun to ride them.

The Z500 isn`t bad and I´m fighting with myself to strip her down as well and I guess I will do next winter to have her perfect next spring. Beside of that it`s allready planned to convert her with a 68HP GPZ engine so it`s a good plan to do both at once. Thje lil Kawas are not very liked and common here - Z1`s you could find on any corner and boards for them as well. I`m happy to found this board and been surprised thats so many KZ550`s here.

I attached some pics from my 3 lil bikes.

Best,
Igor

Thanks Guys!

@Sparky - I have the Kawasaki Workshop Book and the Kawasaki Parts list Book. I buy this things for any bike I own and especially the partslist is a great help hunting parts and for de- and reassembling after restauration.

500`s & 550s are dealed like crap here for some hundrets of bucks. Seems noone like them and they riding great in my opinion. At least I´m absolutely happy with the 500 - ok, could have more punch but this will be solved in winter with a GPZ engine :-)

Igor

I love that 250! That is some nice clean blast to ride stuff. Good of you to keep those alive and where they belong, in the garage ready to ride!

Thanks for the warm welcome Guys,

the bikes do more for me than I for them. They calm me down, give me competition and let me think nothing about the daily crap when I ride or work on them.

Next project beside the Z500 will be a GPZ1100 UT I bought new when I`ve been 20 and come together with her with my wife )lol 30 years ago). I`m looking every day to get the model I had - silver with red wheels. And after that a GPZ750 Turbo and I´m set :-)

(Ol mens big dreams hehe)

Best,
Igor
