79 KZ650
10 Apr 2012 14:20 - 10 Apr 2012 14:22
I recently bought a 79 z650 b3. I am in the process of restoring it and putting my own twist on it. I put drag bars, new grips, Mac 4 in to 1 header and muffler, replaced the spoke wheels with the factory mags and a few other here's and there's. I'll put some pics up shortly. When I got the bike it was 100% complete and I gave 400 bucks for it. Guy said it quit charging and wouldn't run unless he had jumber cables on it. He ha just replaced the chain and sprocket, and when he put the cover back on he pinched the stator wires and fried the reg/rec. Replaced and rewired the reg/rec and we are ready to rock and roll lol.ust have to finish fixing stuff from it sitting

If they're not rusted much and are not dented or otherwise damaged hang onto them. They can be re-chromed by someone wanting a nice stock set, so they still have decent value to you if you decide to sell them. Ed

Here is a YouTube link to the first start up of the bike. I haven't installed the header or exhaust yet so this is with the stock exhaust still on it
