Thanks folks. I've been sitting on this KZ for about 3 years now and just months ago decided to bring it back to life. It hasn't ran since I've owned it. Suspect it was just a bad starter solenoid but tore it apart before I ever tried to fix it. My aspirations are leaning toward a cafe/brat/tracker something or another. I've got a rough draft of what I want in my head but only time and money will bring it to reality. I wish I had taken pictures before starting the teardown. As it sits today, it's a rolling chassis with the enigine still mounted. I'll try to pull the engine this weekend and then I can actually start the process of modifying the frame. I'm not a mechanic by trade, but I'm gonna try to tackle most of the work myself. I am a little intimmidated by the charging and wiring systems in motorcycles but I've browsed the pages here and found new confidence. A lot of good people with great insight.

Welcome to the forum.

I got my first bike in December and don't know what I would've done with it if I haven't stumbled upon this forum by accident. Without a manual (and without any mechanical or electrical experience on bikes) I've managed to repair a lot on my bike from the guys giving advice here.
