Back in the Saddle Again
26 Mar 2012 13:35
My name is Ben and I've been a member here for a while. Since I sold my KZ550 almost 5 years ago, I've been on the hunt for a 1000c.c. or larger bike. Finally I found an unexpected surprise, near by.
I live in Harley land. KZs or any other standard bikes are hard to come by, much less one that is 25+ years old. My ship finally came in a week ago when I discovered a 1983 1100 shaft. Its a rider, but it needs attention in many areas. I will post progess as I go and ask many-o-many questions. Thanks for keeping this community alive! See ya on the flip side

Heres a few snaps of the bike. I've been riding it, so I havn't started to tackle some of the minor issues like no front turns and no rear riding pegs. I also need to replace the ugly yellow plug wires, as they were improperly installed and have rubbed on the tank.. First major project during summer break will be to strip the tins and paint. On the fence about painting it back the same candy, but without the gold strips. Might just mix an auto paint that is simular to meet AR antique laws. I do plan on keeping the bike fairly stock. The only issue I've had is weather or not to keep the stock exhaust. Its in decent shape; good baffles and chrome. But I love the sound of a 4-1
Can anyone tell me if it has the original seat/seat cover?
