KZ1000A2 in Laveen, AZ

Howdy!

I have a very nice original/restored red 1978 KZ1000A2 with 32k miles. I'm in Laveen, AZ which is close to Phoenix. I've drooled over the KZ1000 since I was a teenager in England (called the Z1000 there) when I was hacking about on 250cc 2 strokes. I've owned several Kawasaki road bikes and many Kawasaki KX motocross bikes, which I raced in my yoof. At one time or another I've had a GPZ1100, ZX1100, ZX750, KR1 but this is my favorite.

Looking forward to helping with the relay when the flag gets to the SW.

April 1st I have my first show with the bike. It's already won a 1st place for metric bike at a local show with the previous owner who spent a lot of time and money on it. I've had the bike two weeks and just got it registered and inspected.

Pics to follow in the appropriate forum ...

I have a madcap idea to use a KZ1000 motor in a small rear engined, chain drive, 2 seater offroad buggy I've been dreaming about building for years. HD clutches, hotrod parts and experts seem to be still plentiful so the pretty bulletproof KZ1000 motor seems like an ideal candidate if I can find one cheap.

BTW, the geezer in my avatar is James Hunt!

Hasta!
-Steve

Welcome Steve...we are a well-behaved group of zed-heads if you either (1) throw raw meat at us or (2) post photos of your motorcycle. :)

Thank you, gentlemen. Now I can't take credit for this, other than recognizing a beautiful bike and a good buy when I see it. A guy, Jeff, from near Cottonwood, AZ, restored the bike he bought from another chap in Chandler. The bike is very original in terms of it's parts, but Jeff put in a lot of work getting it to this state.

Dave, love to go for a ride when you're ready ... looking forward to seeing your machine!
