Hi, my name is Bill. New to this forum but active in other ones regarding classic bikes. I have ridden and restored classic English motorcycles for over 40 years but I always have had a Japanese bike for daily transportation. That bike (KZ550) is now a classic but I ride it nearly every day. I've join this forum because I do not intend to sell my bike, probably not ever. Generally I do all my own work but frankly I've never really gotten deep into the Japanese bikes, mainly because they don't need it.
I will be seeking sage advice from those of you who have gotten deep into them in order to keep my bike going. I live on Maui where there really isn't any kind of support for these bikes to speak of. There is a Kawasaki/Harley dealer here but at 100$/hr rate, I'll be tacking nearly every task myself.
I guess I should post a pic of my ride. 32k miles and runs like a swiss watch. Mostly. More about that later.

Welcome, ask all the questions you have to to keep the old Kaw going. The Kawasaki shop here is useless for the older bikes, if it is not injected the mechanics are lost.
