Hey guys, today I just picked up an '82 KZ750 twin. I've never owned a Kawasaki before so it will be new territory for me. In the past I've owned several SR500's, a cb350, an FZR1000, and a few bikes not worth mentioning.

I'm hoping to do a bit of a cafe build on this one, so you'll be seeing me in the tech forums from time to time. I'd love to hear from anyone who has a 750 twin and/or folks around the Seattle area (I'm in Renton, WA).

I'll post pics of the bike once I get some, but I haven't done a thing to it yet. First order of business, get rid of the ape hangers!

Welcome greendrop.
Superbike bars make a world of differance.

Search for 750 twin starter clutch threads.
Factory service manual is well worth it. Chaek e-bay, $20-$30 range.

Good luck,
Jim

Thanks guys!

@Tim- Yeah, I'm not really a speed demon. I just want something that's fun to ride and looks sweet. That bike you linked to looks amazing!

@Jim- Yeah, superbike bars are nice. I think I'm going with clubmans on mine because I like a more aggressive stance. Eventually I'll go full clip-ons and rearsets, but that's a bit more work than I am prepared to do at the moment. I just want to get out and ride a bit first! It's been a few years since my last bike, one of the sacrifices I had to make when starting my business.

Cheers, fellas!

Hi Andy - I'm also a newby - ;)

The Z750 twin was a really underated bike back in the day - no one wanted them (in the UK anyhow).

But nowadays they are quite rare and starting to fetch good money - especially as those XS650's are being used up for flat trackers, bobbers & the like B)

Heres their Z750.....

...should know better!

Here's a pic of my bike. I hit the tank and side covers with flat black rattle-can, because I couldn't stand the color that was on it.
