Me and my Zed

Hi all, I have been lurking her for a bit, but that has just got me motivated to dust off my bike and ride it after a couple of years off. work, kids, you know the story. Here it is, generally known at our place as the Mistress.

It's a Gpz1100, with Gpz1100zx motor, wheels, gauges, swingarm, koni shocks, progressive for springs, some close ratio gears, and bits and pieces. 34mm Cv's with a K&N in the airbox. Laverda style adjustable bars which are great. This one I've has about 15 years, plus I have a stock 1100 B1 which was a bit of a barn find. Also have an RZ350 which has been off the road for a while too - 370cc Wiseco's etc.

Also used to have a Z1000j which was a daily for many years until a volvo cleaned us up. Got hooked on zeds at an early age with Mad Max, and later Stone. Then got to ride injected 11's when I first got my licence, although I had a 77 Z1000 for a while too.

Anyway, you've sucked me in now, I bought a shit ugly zxr750 h2 last friday night, and now by Monday night, it's stripped and the front end is in an old B2 frame I have here for mock up.

Part 2, here is another pic, this one is more current, with superbike bars. will go back to the Laverda bars though if I can't get the zxr clip ons right when I get to that.

So I'm sure to be here picking your brains when this gets difficult. There are some awesome big kawas on here,it's great to know there are so many out there with the same disease as me. I have had other bikes, and worked on Harleys for a while too. But there is nothing else that matters than these big old aircooled dinosaurs, it is all about the Zeds for me.

Cheers all. i do wonder what the zxr would be like with my rz motor in, but made sure I stripped it before I thought about it too much. Should have some photos of other zeds here somewhere, will post them when I can scan them in.

if you could post up any pics of kz's,z1's,zeds that you have.
