So, I got a new battery today. I installed it and managed to get the beast fired up! It took a couple tries but it runs to my amazement. I wasn't expecting everything to go so well for a bike that "doesn't work". The only problem I have now that I need to tackle is a really horrible clacking sound in the lower RPMs. I thought it was probably a valve adjustment but from what I've read in a few places it may be a timing chain tensioner, does that sound possible? Where could I find a new one?

Your cam chain tensioner may be what's causing the noise. Many riders are replacing them with manual ones like this: www.kriegercamchaintensioners.com/

Welcome, Read the manual and do the maintainance on it. The manual will tell you how to adjust the timing chain adjustment.

How many miles? Roy

The bike currently has 46,000 on it. How long does one of these engines typically last? Hopefully not 50,000
