Welcome to KZR!

I'm not an expert on the CV carbs that come on the later KZs, but I think that everything after 1981 uses the Mikuni BS34. If I'm right, then that includes a lot of Police model KZs that were made up until 2002. I'm sure someone will come along with a more sure answer.

As for where to find parts, my first choice is always Z1 Enterprises. Here's the link to their website: www.z1enterprises.com/default.aspx

If you don't see something on their website, then give them a call. They usually can get the part for you. On the rare occasion that they can't, they will usually recommend an alternative supplier.

Good luck with your project.

As with virtually everyone who frequents this site, become familiar with eBay...everything almost always appears on eBay. There is a steep learning curve on eBay with respect to what are deals and which parts cross-list with your bike. Several sites specialize in older Kawasaki models...one of the more notable being www.z1enterprises.com As for your carbs, your bike originally came with Mikuni BS34 CV carbs. Kawasaki used these on many different models and although superficially similar, many models were jetted differently. Kawasaki used Mikuni BS34's on their family of KZ1000 motorcycles from 1981 through 2005 (not to mention the KZ1100 and KZ750 families, but those lines didn't live as long)...finding carbs from another comparable KZ1000 should put you in the range, for starters.

Buy a genuine Kawasaki shop manual for your bike...also commonly found on eBay.

...and welcome to KZR :)
