Hello from the UP

Hey everyone!

I am a student at Michigan Technological University. Just got my mechanical and electrical degrees and I am now going for my masters. I apparently hate having a life or free time. It is nice to finally have the school paying me though! :P

Just picked up an 81 KZ650 last weekend. She is in bad shape but I plan to bring her back to life over the winter. The bike has been sitting in a garage for the last 7 years. Unfortunately, the previous owner didn't do the best job in storing the bike.

Yeah, it is getting a bit cold. Was in the 40's today. We had a short warm spell earlier this week but I have a feeling that will be the last. It is beautiful up here though, especially in the fall. Can wait to go on some rides through Copper Harbor!

Thanks for the tips Martin. Z1 seems to have just about everything. I saw your bike in another thread. Hopefully I can get mine looking half as nice as that.

Welcome to KZR! The bike doesn't look to be in terrible shape (at least cosmetically). Z1 does carry most of what you will need. I, and I'm sure many others here, check there first when we need something. Not only do they have a lot of parts we need, but good prices too! ;)
