81 KZ750 - First time rider in So. Utah

Hey all,

Just two weeks ago I went through the MSF BRC and over this last weekend I picked up a 1981 KZ750...my first bike ever!

I've wanted to ride for about 10 years and finally took the plunge and enrolled in the BRC. I picked up this bike for dirt cheap because it has been sitting since 2004. It seems to run really well(especially after changing oil, spark plugs, old gas, etc) but the body really needs to be cleaned up. I really don't like the paint job ha ha, but I wasn't about to let that stop me from getting it. The air filter was missing when I got it so I'm (im)patiently waiting for a new one to show up in the mail so I can start riding this thing!

I'm excited to find this forum! I'll be asking a lot of questions since I'm new to motorcycles so I hope that's ok!

That will be a really fun bike for you. Almost looks like the PO was a Pin Striper.
So you'll learn heeps here. Check out all the Info in "FileBase". Have got a proper Kawasaki Service Manual? If not there is probably a free download to get.

Cool thanks for the tips! That guide should come in real handy. I'm excited to start riding as soon as my air filter gets here on thursday. I've been fighting the urge to just start riding without it...but I dont want to ruin a perfectly good bike he he

Welcome! You'll definitely have some fun on that bike. Just remember to keep the rubber side down and you should be ok. :woohoo: I crack me up!
And yes, asking questions is what all of us do best. And the coolest part of the site, there are some very intelligent people on here that can probably even answer the questions you ask! Probably... Maybe.... I'm almost certain... :laugh:
