KZ onward and up

Short intro, I have been lurking around for a few weeks now trying to gather as much info about KZs as I can. A year ago I built a KZ 750-4 hillclimber and have been struggling to get her to run competitively. The times that I get her running well she is an animal(portly beast like me)on the hill. Hopefully with all this collective knowledge I can get the KZ back on the podium again. I also run a 81 Can-am 400 hillclimber and a multitude of street bikes including a early 82' saber, 80' cx 500, 68 sportster, 2011 HD wide glide. Working on a 77 kz 750 twin bobber project for a friend. Thanks for all the info so far!

Couple pics of the 750 in different stages. The first pics are what the donor bike looked like. It was out under a pine tree in Vermont for 10 years.

Yeah I figure if it has two wheels and an engine it is all good with me. I had a friend that past away that was big into hillclimbing and I feel like it a good tribute to him to build a bike from scratch and race it. Building it was great fun and a nice way to challenge myself. This KZ twin I am working on currently is getting a hand built sidecar which should be good fun too.
