OK - New to this forum so I'll learn the deal as quick as I can.

I just picked up this little 1978 KZ200 over the weekend. Besides the clubman bars installed by the PO, it appears to be all original. It's a fun little thumper, and besides needing a few adjustments, is running well.

The only mod I'm making immediately is replacing the headlight with a new Halogen setup so that I can use modern bulbs that are better and easily sourced.

Beyond that, who knows - I don't want to chop her up too bad, but some minor performance stuff will come later.

Thanks -

Wow, we don't see too many KZ200's here. Welcome! That's a sharp little bike.

That's a pretty bike. If mine I'd find stock handlebars and put the bike in pristine stock condition. It doesn't look like doing that would be too difficult because the bike is already very nice. Some of those smaller bikes in excellent original condition command surprising prices. Ed

Thanks guys - It's a fun little bike. I actually have the original handlebars but at the moment, I prefer the clubmans. I'll take good care of her ;)

I picked up a little 1980 KZ250 for the wife to learn to ride on. She is only 5'2" and she can sit flat footed on it and we haven't found many bikes like that. I'm 5'11" and its a bit cramped for me but its still pretty fun to drive. I had it up to 80 MPH and it started to shake a bit so I backed off. Here is a pic of it, I really like your 200 and I hope you enjoy riding it.
