Hello from Northern Ireland
29 Aug 2011 07:45
Thought i'd join & steal all the knowledge here, nearly everything i googled provided a link to this forum!!
So, i've bought a (1978 registered) 1977 model KZ750 Twin which im turning into a cafe racer. I'm amazed by the knowledge some of you guys have especially Steell who has already helped me out with my brake upgrade.
So thats me saying hello & i hope im not too much of a burden!

Ok guys, here are some pics from the advert i bought it from, im kinda reluctant to post them as the bike is pretty clean & im basically cutting it up!
Well, i've stripped as much as i can off at the minute as im rebuilding the starter clutch & repairing a small crack in the casing that was causing a small oil leak, then im firing it up before i take her to bitds & get the angle grinder out!
Fingers crossed!! Im not looking forward to making my own seat, i think thats gonna be the biggest nightmare, a friend will be doing a full rewire for me.

Welcome Steve. I lived in Co. Down, just outside Banbridge, for about 5 years. I would've loved to have a KZ while I was over there!

Man thats such a help but you may regret saying that! lol. I've a battery box to make as well that i hope to have room for most of the electrics in to give it that 'see through' look, I thnnk the seat is going to have to be 3 pieces inc the battery compartment. All has to be made from scratch.jonnybravo wrote: seats aren't as hard as u might think, I've done a couple, let me know when u get to that point and welcome

Oh aye! I know that area! I went through there to take the scenic route up to the giants causeway. I really liked seeing Lough Neagh.
