Looks like a good first bike to me. Just keep in mind that those 550's do have enough oomph to get you in real trouble. If you haven't already, do set aside a weekend to take the MSF New rider course. It's well worth the time and money for a new rider. Some of the things that you learn are not intuitive. I had been riding for a while before I took mine, and I still learned quite a bit.

Welcome and congratulations. That's a real clean bike you have there. +1 for what Testarossa said. MSF course helps out alot, and it even lowers your insurance rate! ;)
