Hey everyone. I'm new to this forum and I'm looking for anyone who might have plans or an idea of how to fabricate some forward controls for my 1980 KZ440 LTD. Any help would be appreciated.

My engine mounts aren't in the ideal place to put some on, so I was going to get someone to weld a plate to my frame, then I was going to tap a hole, install TC brothers universal controls: www.tcbroschoppers.com/store/index.php?m...ge=index&cPath=24_12
Weld up the seams, point the shift and brake levers straight down and cut off the excess so I have about 2"-3" hanging. then I was going to drill a hole through each one so I could and install the linkage, (like in Leon's pictures above). I haven't done it yet because I'm broke, but it's on the list! :)

Here are some pics of where my motor mounts are, so I completely understand the issue which is partly the location of the exhaust pipes. The PDF file is one I got from another forum which was actually for Yamaha XS650's. I think I am going to try and use it to create a mounting plate for my forward controls and fastfromthepast.com has lots of parts that can be used to build the actual controls. Any other suggestions or plans would be a great help. Thanks to all that have posted.
