Hello everyone!
Jusst thought I'd introduce myself and tell you about my new toy. My name is Josh, I'm 28 and live in central Illinois with my wife and 3 year old son.
4 days ago I bought a 1980 KZ750E. I bought it from the original owner who paid cash for it in August of 1980.
The KZ has been garage kept ever since and has 7,964 original miles. This baby looks like it just rolled off the factory line. It has a Vetter sport fairing, a chrome luggage rack with adjustable backrest, (which I have since removed to better suit my tastes), and cruise control. Everything is original except for the tires. She runs and rides like new, and I am loving it so far. Before I tell you all what I paid for this machine, I would like to get your opinions on what you think it is worth. I can tell that this place will be a valuable source of info for me as I enjoy my new ride.
Thanks in advance for all your input, I look forward to hearing from you all.
Josh-

Welcome to KZr Josh.

That's one sweet looking 750 for sure! B)

As clean looking as it is, the low mileage, and being that your only it's second owner (especially since it's 26 years old), I'd imagine it could probably fetch about $1,200 to $1,500.
Granted, it wasn't as popular a model as the Z1R of that same year, but a collector looking for that particular model 750 (and considering it's great condition/low mileage) might pay more.

Ok, so fess up, whadya pay for it?

I resized the pics to 50% of what they were.
Sorry they were so big. I do plan on eventually losing the fairing, that is after I find and get a new headlight and turn signals. One thing you need to realize is that around here, people are proud of their bikes. Whether they are crap or not, they always ask alot when they sell them. I just saw a POS 1982 Honda 450 Hondamatic sell for $800, and it was in horrible condition. That being said, The guy I bought my KZ from was asking $1800. I was the first person to call and check it out, and I drove away with it for $1000. I think I did pretty good. Whatcha think?

Welcome.

With the low miles and if the body work is in good shape, $1000 sounds like a good deal. Also considering the owner wanted $1800. Being 26 years old though, you will need to check a lot of the rubber pieces, and replace some if needed.

Have fun and ride safely.

Like I said before, It has been garage kept since bought, so the body work is great. Any advice on what rubber pieces I should be checking and/or replacing?
Thanks!

Welcome Josh, nice bike!

When you really think about, any old, road ready, large street bike is worth an easy $1000 these days, with gas the way it is. If you paid $1500 it wouldn't be too bad at all.

Now get a manual, and get on the road! You're going to have a blast!

You might consider offering this accessory package on eBay as it is genuine Kawasaki fairing...should be worth more than other aftermarket accessories. And oh, welcome to KZR...you'll like it here!:)
