Hello all. I bought a 1982 KZ1000 LTD a few weeks back. It's my first bike and getting it up and running has been both torture and an adventure. At least I can ride it now and just have to tweak and/or polish a few things here and there. Ever so glad I started riding and I look forward to learning a lot on this forum and maybe even adding a little knowledge where I can! :)

Welcome, and congratulations on your bike.
If you've never ridden before, or have never been on a bike this big, a motorcycle safety course would be a very good thing. Not only will they better prepare you for riding this beast, but they will also significantly help your insurance costs. ;) The kz's are no joke, they have some get up and move that is best to be eased into.
Safe riding mate.

It certainly has some oomph and I intend to take it easy learning to ride. But, yes, I think beast is an apt term. Thanks for the input...now if I can just get the dag-gone hazards working again (see my thread in the electrical forum...PLEASE!!). LOL
