New Memeber, Finally got bike ob the road

I am new to this site. i havean 81 kz650 csr. i picked this bike up for nothing, it would not run and was very rusty and scratched. cleaned the carbs, and it started right up, and seems t run good. i put a quick coat of paint on it to make it look a little better. so far have put about 800 miles on it. i plan on putting a set of super bike bars on it and a good paint job. Any Suggestions for the bike would be great.

not bad at all...how are your tires and chain and stuff...some rear shocks...the bars will help...you are gonna have to get creative on the routing of the cables to use up some of the extra slack but it can be done....800 miles is a lot and nothing beats fixing a bike that runs ...it is hard to stay motivated when the bike is apart....


tires and a good drive chain are bidggies...even if they have tread they can be old and hard .....new tires and good shocks and chain ect...can really make the next 1000-50000 miles pleasant and also help to sort out new ride issues...

chain seems to be good at this point, had to lube it pretty good, but seems to be okay at this point, front tire is new. rear tire will need to be replaced soon, also going to need rear brakes soon. its deffinetly a work in progress.


no log cabin, just cleared the back yard.

She cleaned up pretty nice. Enjoy the ride. As for suggestions just make her safe and then look at the gallery for what you want her to get. Damn good start tho. Nice bike + nice job!

After paint had been put on. went on first ride.

Bars, changed, new grips, saddle bags and rear spokes painted.



Trunk added for long trips only. its snap on and off.
