New to the site First street bike 1976 Kz900

Hey all! Just got this kz about a week ago, has 36,000 original miles and original paint. Guy wrecked it bent the forks and laid it down but the tank and other stuff was not damaged.i have already ordered some fork tubes and lower triple clamp. bike needs a few little things guages move around, bars were bent etc i noticed it had dana coils and the ignition already so that was a plus and it has the good carbs on it 29 mikinuis (im more into motocross and know more about that than street sorry) i plan on making this my daily driver to and from work and just riding. my dad has a 78 kz1000 thats mint has 16,000 original miles. so that was a reason why i wanted one i always liked his and when this one poped up i heard they were getting rare so i got it. hopefully start getting it ready to ride next week.

It's nice to here of a youngster who appreciates the old Kaw's. Nice find and shouldn't be hard to restore. You'll get a lot of looks and questions when you go out.

whats up J? Your right about all the bobbers and street fighters on here.. theyre cool but i like original. Hey im thinking about getting another kz 900 thats been sitting for a while has everything there for like 500 bucks and i think i wanna do a paint scheme like your z1 but instead of the bottom stripe being gold i wanna do a silver or grey mix it up some but im not sure. i found a set of lester mags but the guy wants 700 for them armed robbery right there.. but ill take pictures and i have another project you might find interesting. im gonna try to make a 75 sr 250 works bike i have alot of vintage kx goodies i scored on ebay a while back. haha

Sweet! after I recover mentally and financially from the 94 I'm doing, I want to find a 75 KX250 to restore. A rider though, no more of this showroom crapola. lol

you come down to texas ill let you ride my 75, i have a whole nother motor i got from a guy im gonna go through it and rebuild it for a back up. theres another 75 down here i know of if i can get it maybe we can work out a deal j. i wouldnt want another one. i have 4 tanks lol thats a little over board with me but i got addicted to getting stuff for it. i have another 75 frame but i plan on putting a 79 kx 250 motor in it and i have a set of 78 kx 250 forks with the finns everyone goes crazy for that stuff on ebay. but all im lacking is the 78 swingarm. but ill let you know on the 75 kx. theres a 75 kx 400 forsale down here, scary fast just needs a little cosmetic work and from your 94 rebuild your good at that. what are you lacking on that 94 btw?

ok, if i get my hands on it you can just pay shipping or something or ill just send it in peices i dont need 2 75 kx's lol. no not yet, im gonna use a 78 kx 250 frame or a 75 cant decide yet.
