Still living in the 70's. Have had lots of bikes - favorite - 73 on up z and later kz always been the crown jewel, as of yet not realized.

Good deal or not? Looking at a
74 Z1A
25k original miles
bone stock original complete inspected well maintained well running cycle w/title
original rootbeer bodywork very nice driver condition no dents some scratches
owners manual, centerstand, maybe tool kit
still running original pipes which have rust through near tips
for sale at 4k

grab it or too high?

Thanks!

Welcome to KZR! Worth it? To the right person, yes. If properly restored, that bike can fetch three times that price or more. Proper restoration is not cheap. The rivet counters know every part that should be on the bike and will bust you on every shortcut. What are your plans? Do you want a rider or a show bike? If you want to build a chopper, then get a KZ for $1000 and use the three grand for parts. $4000 is a fair price for that bike if it is as you have described, IMO.

welcome....

picture please...:)

then folks could get real close on the value...rusted out tips are the killer and other things like that add up too....

some would pay more than 4000....some stumble across em for less....

picture will clear a lot up
..either way , if it needs to be yours  ....then it is simply a matter of haggling, as the price of admission to your riding it :)

you could look a while and not find one that close to original and at that price...if it is close...if you got the cheese.....if you like it......then it is for sure the deal...lot to work with there...and it seems to be close to a where they turn up for a super nice one, for a rider...not so hot right away...for a project then rider...awesome bike imo...price is realistic imo

That looks like a real fair price on that bike based on seeing the ad. I will say that craigslist pictures can hide a lot of small flaws that can add up to an expensive fix. Those pipes are going to be expensive and you need them for a correct resto, but you could always throw a different pipe on there for a rider until you saved all those pennies for a proper 4 into 4. If I had the cash I would jump on that bike. I for one, would love to have an all original Z1 some day.
