New from Mass

Hello. I'm a new member who is just starting to get into riding. I just picked up a 1981 KZ650CSR and I'll be going for my permit this week.

Edit: This is a pic of the bike. It needs a new battery but started up just fine with a jump, and the engine ran great. Bought it from someone who rode it every year for the past 11 years and took good care of it.

Thanks, didn't know that. Hopefully no damage has been done. I'll be getting it down to my house sometime this week, where I can start working on it. The previous owner painted over the front and rear fender, and its chipping off. I would prefer the shiny chrome fenders, so I'm going to try and get the paint off as best I can but as long as the bike runs strong, is reliable, and fun, that's all I really care about.

I'm in southeastern Mass, in Bristol County. I just got the bike home last night and started charging the new battery and removed the sissy bar. The previous owner had painted over the chrome on the sissy bar and the genders, but it seems to be shipping off easily and hopefully I can get them nice and shiny again.
