Hello to all!
02 Feb 2011 11:01
Hi,
I don't have a bike myself, but started riding with my boyfriend this past summer. He has an 82 KZ1100 and he loves it and so do I. He basically rebuilt it and is very proud of all of his hard work. At the end of the summer his brother took it for a ride and must have been going pretty fast cause the right side cover blew off. He didn't even realize until he got back and we have been trying for months to find a replacement. We are really looking forward to this coming summer and doing a lot of riding including a big group ride in July when we get married. I'm going to turn him on to this site as I'm sure he would have a lot to contribute, but right now I am desperately trying to find a side cover for him. If anyone has suggestions I really appreciate it. We have found several left sides on ebay, but no rights. Thank you for the opportunity to post this and I hope to chat with some of you soon.

Welcome
You may want to try Z1 enterprises. Seems like they have the best selection of everything for these old bikes.

New grommets may also help keep a tighter grasp.
The are available at Z1 Enterprizes:

The grommets are also available from Kawasaki dealers.
Good Fortune!

Wow, thank you for all the responses and the welcome. I believe I did send a parts request through the Z1 enterprises website before , but I've tried so many, maybe I will try it again just in case. As far as the model, all I know is I've heard him say it is a J model and it is shaft driven. I'm still new to this, so I don't know what any of that means, I'm trying to learn a little bit at a time though. Thanks again!!

Yea, I saw all those covers on ebay, a couple of them are exactly a match, but for the left side. I wonder why the right is so hard to find? I'm in Columbus, OH.

Welcome to KZR mayzee.
You might want to try posting a parts wanted ad on FINDMYPART.COM
Or try searching on FATFINGERS.COM
Both have netted my great results in the past.
