Welcome dcil...it is possible to resurrect your 750...challenging, but possible. Take pictures along the way...we love pictures

Welcome Get a factory shop manual first, then tear into her. I am learning these things are pretty bullet proof, and they clean up amazingly.
Alot of great help on this forum, and encouragement when you need it.
