Hi folks. Newbie checking in from Florida and I'll probably end up asking lots of questions in the applicable forums. A little background: I bought the first KZ1000 delivered to Ridgecrest, Ca back in 1977. I had a great time with it until I was transferred to Guam and sold it to my brother in law in '79. After that it was family and career with the occasional thought that someday I'd buy another one, fix it up and ride again. Long story short, my son decided that he'd call my bluff and found a 1980 KZ1000 shaft which he bought and gave to me as a combination birthday / early Christmas present. Early indications are that there's a lot of cosmetic work, but she runs and feels pretty strong. It should be fun although I'm already finding that replacement parts are priced according to supply and demand. Obviously there's more demand than supply!
