Last few pics before the long winter nap. Turned down the bars some and lowered the guages a little.

Hey Cuff, i know this may be kind of old but what did you use to make your rear section? is it just aluminum cut and then curved, looks cool, I love the simplicity of this bike. I have found the inspiration for my build.

love this build.
Is your tank bare metal and oiled, or painted clear?

Thank you very much, always nice to get a compliment. The tail section is an advanced polymer that can only be moulded by the most skilled of craftsmen. I like to call it 5 gallon paint can, plastic of course. Had an old one lying around the shop so I tried a quick cut job to get some dimensions and it fit great. Threw some paint on it and it's been that way ever since.
ps. Don't tell anyone about my secret.
As for the tank rcarver just bare metal. No oil, polish or clear. I was looking forward to some patina (rust) and hit it with clear but it's taking too long. This spring I might try a recipe of hydrogen peroxide, mustard and ammonia. We'll show some picks good or bad results.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I was just too proud of some new seat work. Also, put back the floor boards, for a while at least.

Decided to changed the tail section to match the tank. Got rid of the space age technical polymer (paint bucket plastic). Kind of hard to get new steel to look the same as 1981 steel but we'll keep working at it.

Thanks Leon. It's going to take some time to get the steel to match though.
