intro

Hello all,

Name is Jeff. Been riding regularly for 15-16 years. Sportbikes mainly even though I was a mechanic for a certain "American brand" for 9yr. Started on a CB125 my folks bought me as a child of 14, rode it for a summer and then to the first day of school that fall where it was promptly stolen. Fast forward several years to 1993, entering my 20s I decided to buy my first real bike, 1981 GPz 550, followed by CBR after CBR, Ducati, two Buells, and a Sportster in there somewhere. Working at a bike shop sucked the life right out of my hobby and caused me to sell my last bike, three years ago. Left the bike shop 2yrs ago and have started getting the fever again, so I hit craigslist and found my latest endeavour in this '76 KZ650. Needs a little work but for $600 it's gonna either be the best or worst decision I have made this year!
Well, that's me sorta, got several questions already, even though I just brought the bike home today. I promise to read the forum and use the search button to the best of my ability but sometimes I get antsy and just post a question anyway!

Get her straightened out and she will be very dependable for you. Parts are plentiful to, except maybe the rings for a stock bore. Welcome back to riding. I started with a CL175 when I was a youngster, never got stolen just totaled.

well the guy I got it from was some kind of American Picker, lol. The key FOB says "Forensic Transport INC.", not sure what's up with that but I called the number and got a recording that said the number was "not in service to receive in coming calls". Tha address isn't too far from my house, maybe I should drive over. Maybe I should start a Forensic Files thread!
