Hello from MN was created by neil1492
I picked up a 1980 KZ650 LTD a few weeks ago. I have been searching the forum for help on various things. I figured I should post on here to show my ride atleast and say hi to everyone. I can't claim this bike as a work of my own, just as my starting point. Someone before me spent countless hours getting this bike to this condition. Maybe even someone on this forum.

Welcome to KZR! That's a nice looking 650 ya got there. I'd say that you are off to a good start. How does it run?

It runs surprisingly well. Next spring I was going to have the carbs jetted and synced. That is mostly for performance at this point though.

The only real issue at this point is fixing all of the stupid things that have been done to the bike. I noticed today that someone had put a metric nut on an SAE bolt and cross threaded the whole mess. I guess with a 30 year old bike it probably has had near 5-15 owners by now.

Cool. Know the area well, I'm just across the border in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

WHAT part of the cities? I'm out in Mound by Lake Minnetonka. Have you ever been to First Thursday at Dulano's Pizza (Lake Street and Lyndale)?

I am actually from Blaine. I have never been down to Dunlano's Pizza on my bike. I have just driven by when its been going on. I am working on improving my riding skills before I go down into Minneapolis.
