Hello all! Obviously I am new to the KZrider forum, so let me tell you all a few things about myself. My name is Kris and I am picking up my first Kawasaki this weekend. Starting off on the right track with a KZ1000. I believe it is a '79. A friend of mine started this project, but hasn't had either the time or resources to finish it. It's pretty much all in pieces, but from what I can tell, it's all there.
I'm not much of a restoration guy, so I will be doing some mild customizations to make it more aesthetically pleasing (at least to me!). My goal is to have a reliable, clean, and easy to maintain rocket of a "vintage" racebike. I really like the looks of the Rickman bodywork, so I am hoping I can get some replica bodywork that will work with the stock frame.
I'm looking forward to interacting with members here and reading your comments, opinions, and advice. Thanks for reading this small novel, and please wish me luck!
