New from Ontario w/81 kz 1000 csr project

Hello from Ontario been checking the site for a while but waited to introduce myself when i found a kz1000 project, and today is that day found a 1981 kz1000 csr with 47000 km on it, my goal is to turn it into a close replica of the tv show chips bike, so if any one can offer some insight to that and also the diffrences between csr and ltd and a P model would be greatly appreciated i know the P model has cosmetic diffrences and im not sure if i can add those parts to the CSR

csr has spoke wheels,cable driven tach and speedo.Has same engine @92 hp as LTD.J model is cosmetically like LTD but has different cams and cam timing puts out 102 hp.other wise all three are pretty much the same.I suspect the P bikes are much the same but dont know if they use the J engine or the 92 hp version.bj

Hopefully we can all get out for a ride before the season ends im going to need a few weeks to get mine on the road but at least i found the beloved KZ1000

Also from Ontario here. Sutton by the end of June.
It'll be interesting to see what you do with the CSR. Have seen them made into GPz clones, bobbers, but never a Police bike.

The P bikes have a totally different rolling chassis. About the only thing they have in common with the CSR is the engine itself.
