Thanks for the warm welcome :)

If I may ask a question here (?) I have a typical issue with my Z750:

My Z750 is a smooth runner... if she starts at all.

The only way I have got her running is with a charger connected to the battery as it takes a few minutes of fiddling to get her running.
When she is standing for a few hours and I attempt to start her she immediately fires up... for 1 second and then dies out.
Can't get her back on after that. Nothing no rumbling in the negine, just plain spinning startermotor and that's all.

What would be the logical way forward?

I must admit I did some reading already, so using some carburator cleaning and checking the sparkplugs would be a good idea according to other members.

If this is not the right place for the question, which forum would? Engine or Electrical??

Hope to get some clues from you guys :)

Welcome Michel.
Also from Holland here, now living in Canada.

The engine section would be fine as your having trouble starting yours.
Did you make any changes to the air filtering system?
If so, changes to the carbs will be needed.
A good cleaning of the carbs is all that may be necessary, paying close attention to the choke/enricher system.
Clean air filter is a good start as well.

Thanks for the reply. All is still original.
Want to have the bike working first before I start to change things. Troubleshooting is a nightmare if you start from an unknown point and change too much at the same time.

If the bike is running, i would like to strip it down to a superbike style kinda thing. So will need help later with the carburators later ;)

Found some carburator cleaner in an old cabinet. Will get working on the bike Thursday. Keep you posted.

It runs well on carburator cleaner. A bit rough and loud but it runs. It still doesn't run on petrol though. Took the carburators out and the look clean. Suggestions where to start looking? (can I use carburator cleaner from Wurth on a non running engine/carburator?)

wurth carb cleaner in the can is a very good product i have used it quite abit in the past it sounds to me like you have plugged pilot circuits passages and jets, remove them let them soak in the carb cleaner for a couple of hours remove the slides and any other rubber componets as well and try not to get to much carb cleaner on them. spray the cleaner into every port and passage and then use a rubber tipped blow gun and compressed air to completly blow thru all the same passages that you just sprayed carb cleaner thru. make sure you get good airflow thru them then reassemble and give it a try you should be good to go if you can't get air flow i use copper wire to try and force out the blockages. good luck and welcome
