My second 1981 LTD-1000
08 Apr 2010 08:50
HI all,
Just started checking out this website a few days ago and signed up on it. Looks like there is a lot of well informed folks on here. The first thread I looked at helped me with a problem I’ve been dealing with on my bike.
I had a 1981 LTD-1000 for almost twenty years in Calif. Rode it across the country and back in 1988, (passed through 23 states, rode 8800 miles, round trip. Capitola, Ca to Wakefield, Ma on less than $60.00 in gas!)
When I got married, my wife didn’t like the bike and I got rid of it, at her request. After a divorce, I wished I’d kept it.
In 2008, as I was coming home from work I spotted a 1981 LTD-1000 for sale, right up the street from me! I couldn’t resist. The engine is not as tight or in as good a condition, cosmetically, as my old one, and since I got laid off, I cannot put much into it at this time. But it’s great to back on two wheels. Now I just need a new job!
