Introduction from newbie to forum was created by slow1
Hello,

New to this forum. Used to ride when much younger and just after being married went on vacation leaving a Kawasaki 550 triple and a honda trail bike on a screened in front porch. Upon returning both were gone, never to be recovered. Was never able to afford another one until retirement.
Upon retirement decided to get back into riding and purchased a 96 Honda Magna. Since then I have purchased several older non-running Hondas and restored them. Recently craigslist had a KZ750 CSR for sale that had low miles, less than 4,000 and was advertised as not having any compression. I purchased it for $199.00 couldn't resist as it looked like the first street bike I ever owned a KZ650. It had no keys, broken clutch cable and engine had no compression because it would not turn over. Got the key# off the ignition switch and ordered a set which just came today. Wanted to pull the clutch and covers straight away but because of the phillips head screws am waiting on an impact driver to loosen them. Also, trying to find a shop manual. Have found Clymer manuals which I don't care for. Any leads to a shop manual would be appreciated (pdf would be ok.)
There are some great looking Kawasaki's posted here, hope to be able to post a picture of my own here someday.

Welcome slow1. Lets see a picture of what you can get for $199 these days. Don't pull it too far apart before you test everything. Good luck!

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationAs was already mentioned;
Don't wait, show us what you have now!:woohoo:

As for the manual, I'm not that familiar with the 750's and you didn't give a year, but a quick search on ebay turned this up. Seems like a reasonable price and should cover your bike.

Welcome!

Too bad about the stolen bikes, but good to have you here now. Did someone mention pics?

Okay, I maybe slow but when subtly hit over the head I do occasionally get it.

Jake it is an 82 but it is a twin so I don't think that manual is applicable.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationNice! I would have given $199 for that without hesitation.

By the way, welcome!
As you may have noticed we like pics!

This one is on a CD, but I'm not sure if has the factory manual or something else, maybe ask the seller. It is cheap though.

Jake, Thanks I bought that one. Your search abilities are certainly much better than mine.
Hopefully I will have the mechanical issues fixed in short order.

Welcome slow1, nice score on the 750 Twin.

Type "starter clutch" in the search forum button at the top of the page for some insightfull information on the weak link for these models.

Also the 750 twin crank rotates backwards (counter-clockwise as viewed from the ignition/throttle side of the engine)which is opposite of all the 4 cylinder models.

Good Luck,
Jim
