Just got this 1981 J1 and thought I'd crash the party so as to get aquainted with my bike and the sort of folks who might appreciate my "outdated", mostly stock ... and highly prized (by me) new obsession. Hopefully I can figure out how to post a photo.

sweet..poor mans ELR...really nice bikes...gs1000s fairing i think...i got the same yr and bike cept it's only 3/4 together...welcome...great bike!

only meant that it offers most of the elr's items and layout...without costing 9-14000.....

i consider mine to be a kissing cousin to an elr

Actually, the J models share much with the North American R1/R2 models and can be relatively easily cloned to resemble the R models...the European R2 models have a different rake than the North American R1/2 models.
