new guy

hi everybody! well i think i've been lurkin around this site off and on since around '01. back around 2000 i got a 1981 KZ100 LTD given to me by a friend. the forks were bent and that was all that was wrong with it.

well being in my early 20's and not having a place of my own, i had no where to store it but outside. fastforward to present day, it's still stored outside but the only thing i plan to save is the motor. i recently bought a 1981 KZ 1000 CSR basket case with title and supposed to be a bad motor.

so with the bike i just bought and the bike i've had for 10 years i think i'm finaly in a place to start building my dream chopper. that is with help from all of you. there's so much knowledge here and i've been trying to absorb as much as possible. anyway, i'm glad to finaly be able to call myself a member here. i look forward to meeting you all. thanks!!

well right now i'm just workin on having a place to work on them. hopefully in a month or so i will be ready to start. but i warn you all now, i plan to take my time on it. it will be my first build and i want to make sure i do it right. so i hope i don't bore you all to death! LOL

but yes sir, i will get some pix up soon.

Welcome chopper dude. I redid my Z1 on my front porch with my tailgate of my truck as my work bench and my gas grill as a tool storage. It sucked but 9 months later I was ridin. My bike sat outside for 13 years and was a total mess.

what are your plans? total chop cut and rebuilt into a chopper?

thanks for the warm welcome everyone! i will get pix up i promise but right now one bike is under snow and the other is in storage which i can't get to due to snow as well. but in the next couple days i will make an effort to get you guys some pix.

as far as a plan, yeah i have clear view of what i want it to be, when i figure out how to post pix i'll put one up of a bike i want to kind of model mine after. to give you an idea, 70's style big loud chopper, big springer, 21" front rib, for the tank either fat bobs or a stretched coffin tank, king and queen seat, sissy bar to the stars, 15" rear wheel, buckhorn style bars, etc.

yeah i don't even have a porch or spare room to speak of. my father-in-law (possible huge headache) has agreed to let me use a roughly 20'x15' indoor space to work on bikes. now we just gotta get that space cleaned up.

i really look forward to gettin to know you guys and again thanks for the great welcome and interest in my upcoming project!
